Baresel formula confirmation: what is confirmed, and what is not
Baresel publishes a manufacturer-confirmed formula, not an independently certified or clinically tested shampoo. Our brand record states that the OEM manufacturer confirmed the current formula in September 2026 and that it is the version used by the six early testers. This page separates that statement of composition from evidence we do not have. Baresel is $22 for 250 ml, fragrance-free, and preorder only, not in stock.
What you can establish from this page
- CAPB and alkyl glucosides are deliberately omitted from the current manufacturer-confirmed formula.
- The actual preservatives are Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate.
- The isethionate, taurate and glutamate cleansers are coconut-derived; this is not a coconut-free formula.
- Manufacturer confirmation is published here as a brand statement, not an independent test result.
- Ingredient avoidance does not guarantee tolerability or treat contact dermatitis.
The current full INCI, in order
Aqua/Water, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Glycerin, Panthenol, Sodium Chloride, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Tocopherol.
These are 12 ingredient names, with Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate counted separately. See the ingredient-by-ingredient explanation. Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate is an anionic taurate surfactant, not a non-ionic cleanser; Innospec's ingredient supplier guide describes that ingredient as anionic and coconut-based. That reference explains ingredient chemistry only: it is not evidence about Baresel's finished product or its raw-material supplier.
What the manufacturer confirmation covers
Baresel's product record states that the OEM manufacturer confirmed this INCI in September 2026, and identifies it as the manufactured formula used by all six early testers. We publish that confirmation as the brand's statement about the manufacturer's formula. We do not present it as a third-party audit, certification or clinical endorsement. The published formula is what we ask customers to review before ordering; check the ingredient label on the bottle you receive before use.
Evidence available, and what it does not establish
| Evidence | What is available | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Formula confirmation | Brand record of manufacturer confirmation, September 2026; full INCI published above | Not independently certified; manufacturer identity and an original signed document are not published here |
| Supporting artifacts | No original manufacturer confirmation document, certificate or legible label photograph supplied as evidence on this page | Product imagery is not a substitute for those artifacts; no phantom screenshot or certificate is claimed |
| Independent laboratory report | No independent finished-product composition or trace-impurity report available in our record | No measured CAPB, DMAPA, amidoamine or other impurity result, detection limit or zero-contamination claim |
| Clinical evidence | No clinical study or dermatologist-led patch-test data available for Baresel | No proven allergy safety, treatment effect, non-drying outcome or comparative efficacy claim |
| Early tester feedback | Six disclosed early testers received complimentary product and were asked for honest feedback; reviews remain on home and shop | Not verified buyers, a controlled study or evidence that people with a diagnosed allergy will tolerate it |
Deliberately omitted ingredients and families
- CAPB and related amidopropyl surfactants: no Cocamidopropyl Betaine, other amidopropyl betaines, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine or Cocamidopropylamine Oxide in this formula.
- Alkyl glucosides: no Decyl Glucoside, Coco-Glucoside, Lauryl Glucoside or Caprylyl Glucoside.
- SLS/SLES: no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
- Propylene Glycol: omitted.
- MI/MCI: no Methylisothiazolinone or Methylchloroisothiazolinone.
- Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives: none used, including DMDM Hydantoin.
- Fragrance: no Parfum/Fragrance and no masking scent.
How to use this information if you have an allergy
Compare every ingredient with the avoidance instructions from the clinician who interpreted your patch tests. A positive CAPB test does not automatically diagnose allergy to coco-betaine, alkyl glucosides or all coconut-derived ingredients. Published research supports a role for amidoamine in some CAPB reactions, but does not establish the cause of your reaction or a universal cross-reactor list. Read the related-ingredient guide for the distinctions.
With a diagnosed allergy, do not deliberately apply a known allergen to see if you react. Ask your clinician whether a new product is appropriate and whether any supervised assessment is needed. DermNet describes dermatologist patch testing for diagnosis and discontinuing identified CAPB-containing products. Baresel is a cosmetic cleanser, not a treatment, and no ingredient omission promises a reaction-free wash.
