We're brand-new — no reviews to show you yet, and we won't invent any. Judge us on the full ingredient list, in plain sight.

Why $22?

You're paying for a complete CAPB-free formula — a humectant (glycerin), provitamin B5 (panthenol), and a conditioning agent, all checkable on the INCI — rather than a minimal stripped base. It's made in small batches and sold direct. Plenty of clinical CAPB-free shampoos cost less, and some hold more; we don't claim a size or price edge.

  • Cocamidopropyl-betaine-free
  • Sulfate-free · no MI/MCI
  • Full ingredient list published
  • Cosmetic — no medical claims

Defined by what it leaves out.

A gentle shampoo was never hard to make — the problem is that the ones sold as gentle keep the very ingredient a reactive scalp reacts to. Baresel starts from the exclusion list.

Genuinely CAPB-free

Built to leave cocamidopropyl betaine out — the allergen hidden in most ‘gentle’ and sulfate-free shampoos — and it’s named on the published list.

None of the usual triggers

No sulfates (SLS/SLES), no MI/MCI, no formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, no fragrance or masking scent.

Foaming cleansers, not sulfates

A mild amino-acid + glucoside surfactant system — foaming surfactants built to make a soft, genuine lather and rinse clean, without SLS or CAPB.

Built to be gentle, not stripping

Glycerin and panthenol are humectants, added so the formula is designed to clean without the tight, squeaky feel of a stripped-down clinical base.

How much is it?

$22 for a 250 ml bottle, fragrance-free.

Is it really cocamidopropyl-betaine-free?

Yes — Baresel is built to explicitly leave CAPB out, and the full intended INCI is published so you can check it against a known allergy. It also leaves out sulfates and the harsh preservatives (MI/MCI, formaldehyde donors) reactive scalps often react to.

I react to coconut — is that a problem?

It can be. CAPB is coconut-derived, and so are some of the gentle cleansers here (sodium cocoyl isethionate, sodium cocoyl glutamate). So Baresel is CAPB-free, not a coconut-free guarantee. Read the full list and patch-test.

How is Baresel verified cocamidopropyl-betaine-free?

The full intended INCI is published now, so you can check it yourself, and CAPB is excluded by the formulation spec — not just left off the marketing. Before a batch ships, the INCI printed on the bottle is reconciled against the manufactured batch. That’s a composition and process fact, not a lab-test or clinical claim.

Is Baresel a treatment for an allergy or scalp condition?

No. Baresel is a cosmetic shampoo and makes no medical claims — it’s defined by what it leaves out and what it uses instead. A contact allergy is a medical matter: read the full ingredient list, patch-test, and speak with a healthcare professional.
